Learning across three countries

Ghana, Togo, and Benin

Ghana

Ghana has been an important setting for AOH's educational and cultural programs. Our past program experiences and proposals have included public health and education placements in Keta, as well as historical learning in Cape Coast. These experiences create opportunities to explore local educational settings, community health and Ghana's history. Current opportunities depend on institutional needs and local arrangements.

Togo

Togo is home to several of AOH's educational and cultural learning initiatives. Past program proposals have included education and professional placements in Lomé and Kpalimé, alongside culinary experiences introducing participants to local cuisine, food traditions and cultural activities. Programs are developed around participants' learning objectives and arrangements with local hosts.

Benin

Benin is an important destination for exploring West African history and cultural heritage. Through its regional academic programs, AOH has developed learning experiences connected to Ouidah and other historically significant locations. These experiences encourage participants to examine the history of the transatlantic slave trade, its connections across West Africa and the African diaspora, and the historical perspectives that shape contemporary understanding.
